1860– The Prince of Wales  (later King Edward VII) visits the United States for the first time.  Statues of Edward can be found throughout the former empire, such as those in Waterloo Place, London, Centenary Square, Birmingham, Queens Park, Toronto, Franklin Square, Hobart, and outside the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney.

Watch this space for our blog on Sulgrave Manor, where we talk about the continued connections between Britain and United States.
